Item ORAÇÃO E MILAGRES: UMA ANÁLISE EM JOSUÉ 10:12-15(2025) ALEXANDER ANTONIO DO NASCIMENTO COSTAThe present article aims to reflect on aspects of faith and prayer based on the episode reported in Joshua 10:12–15, known as the long day, through a study of the nature and definition of prayer and the idea of the centrality of prayer for the Israelite people, as well as how divine intervention influenced this concept. We will also discuss the applicability of prayer for Christians today and how we ought to pray according to the teachings of Christ, applying them to a life devoted to prayer. Using strictly bibliographic sources, this article was developed with basic methodologies such as bibliographic research, literature review, dissertations, theses, and existing articles. Drawing from the accounts of authors such as Gordon Fee (2013), Sammy Tippit (2019), Richard S. Hess (1996), among others, the work was produced with the aim of generating a better understanding of God’s intervention and will in the Christian life..Item Crescimento saudável da Igreja: pilares centrais para o equilíbrio entre quantidade e qualidade(2025) Arthur Datrino BarbosaThis article aims to address the topic of healthy church growth and analyze possible principles that can be implemented and motivated so that a church reaches its greatest growth potential while maintaining the health and edifying spiritual life of its members. The article's development is based on the analysis of three central pillars present in healthy growing churches: vision (understanding why the church exists and what its purpose is), fellowship (the importance of church members developing a welcoming environment through healthy and intentional relationships), and empowerment (the need for the church to constantly adapt and engage in self-reflection to determine if it is acting relevantly in society). In this context, various aspects of these pillars are analyzed in the article, based on reflections on the current scenario of churches, their mistakes, and the difficulties they face. The implementation of these pillars in churches is discussed in the conclusion, and the methodology used in this work was strictly based on bibliographic sources from leaders with relevant ministries who present crucial points for the healthy growth of a church.Item O legado profético de Jesus Cristo: uma análise teológica e histórica(2025) Fernando de Andrade SilvaThis article explores the prophetic legacy of Jesus Christ from a theological and historical perspective, analyzing his prophecies as recorded in the Gospels and their relevance throughout the centuries. The investigation highlights the importance of these prophecies for the formation of Christian theology and their influence on Western culture. The main prophecies analyzed include predictions about the destruction of Jerusalem, Jesus's death and resurrection, and eschatological prophecies related to the end times. The methodology used was the historical-theological method, allowing for a critical analysis of biblical texts and their historical contexts, revealing the evolution of prophecy interpretation over the centuries. Authors such as N. T. Wright and George Eldon Ladd were key to understanding the theological and historical aspects of the topic. The study concludes that, although interpretations have changed over time, the impact of these prophecies on faith and Christian practice remains significant. These predictions continue to inspire eschatological hope and shape Christian ethics and spirituality, underscoring their relevance in both contemporary theology and culture.Item As bem-aventuranças em Mateus 5:3-11: Como Seus Ensinamentos Centrais Respondem aos Desafios Da Igreja Contemporânea(2025) Carlos Felipe dos Santos LopesThis article addresses the theme “The message of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5:3–11: how their central teachings respond to the challenges of the contemporary church” and aims to investigate how the fundamental teachings of Jesus, expressed in the Beatitudes, can be applied as responses to the ethical and social challenges faced by the church today. The hypothesis guiding this research is that the Beatitudes offer essential principles which, when properly understood and applied, provide solid guidelines for dealing with issues such as inequality, social justice, and religious pluralism.Item A pneumatologia no evangelho de Lucas: a partir de Lucas capítulo 4.16-22(2025) Allan de Souza AvilaThis article aims to analyze chapter 4:16-22 of the Gospel of Luke and address the theme of pneumatology, observing its theological implications. The study will consider three sections in which the proposed theme will be analyzed. The first section will be analyzed starting from an introduction and historical context of the Gospel of Luke, introducing the reader to the historical knowledge of the book. The second section will offer a brief commentary and analysis of the text of Luke 4:16-22, considering the manifestation of the Spirit in the life of Jesus for the beginning of salvation. The third section will examine how the Spirit influences the entire book. Finally, we will see a practical application in contemporary reality regarding the person of the Holy Spirit.Item Reino de Deus ou império de homens? Uma possível distorção pastoral quanto à Igreja Local(2025) Leonardo Garcia de AraújoThis article analyzes pastoral deviations in the leadership of local churches, highlighting how practices contrary to the Word of God hinder the healthy growth of the body of Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom. The study presents different levels of awareness regarding these deviations, ranging from unconscious acts to intentional behaviors that stray from biblical principles. Additionally, it provides a brief historical overview, including the example of the Catholic Church and the Protestant Reformation, demonstrating how vanity and the pursuit of human power can compromise spiritual leadership. Finally, it proposes solutions grounded in biblical principles to strengthen pastoral vocation and ensure that the church progresses in alignment with God’s will.Item A infiltração da nova era no cristianismo contemporâneo: desafios doutrinários e influências na Fé Cristã(2025) Laura Andrade Maciel AraújoThis article aims to examine the infiltration of New Age ideas and practices into contemporary Christianity and their impacts on faith and religious practice, identifying their historical roots, conceptual foundations, and doctrinal implications. Adopting a qualitative and bibliographic approach, the study engages in dialogue with both classical and contemporary scholars of Christian theology, including John Stott, Paul Heelas, Francis Schaeffer, and Wouter J. Hanegraaff. The findings indicate that the New Age movement, characterized by mystical foundations and religious syncretism, has influenced Christian discourse through the incorporation of esoteric concepts, astrology, positive thinking, consciousness expansion, inner balance, self-overcoming, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). These elements promote an anthropocentric and therapeutic form of spirituality that displaces Christ from the center of faith, weakens biblical doctrine, and diminishes the authority of Scripture. The study concludes that an adequate Christian response to this challenge requires renewed spiritual discernment, fidelity to sound doctrine, and a return to the absolute centrality of the Word of God as the sole infallible rule of faith and practice.Item Secularismo e o vazio existencial: uma reflexão a partir de Eclesiastes 2.1-11(2025) David Lopes de AlbuquerqueThis study examines the relationship between secularism and existential emptiness based on the theological reflection of Ecclesiastes 2:1–11. The phenomenon of secularization, characteristic of modernity and intensified in postmodernity, redefines human experience by shifting the meaning of life from the sphere of the transcendent to the domain of the immanent, producing an individual centered on autonomy and self-sufficiency. This reconfiguration, as contemporary authors indicate, intensifies inner fragmentation, anxiety, and the feeling of purposelessness. The exegetical reading of Ecclesiastes 2:1–11 shows that Qohelet undertakes an existential experiment involving pleasure, wisdom, labor, power, and wealth, concluding that such paths, when pursued “under the sun,” inevitably result in frustration and emptiness. Based on biblical analysis and dialogue with studies on secularization, it is demonstrated that Qohelet’s diagnosis remains relevant by revealing that any existential foundation built apart from God becomes unstable and insufficient. The study concludes that the fear of the Lord—understood as reverence and dependence on the Creator—offers a robust theological alternative to confront the void produced by contemporary secularism, restoring meaning, direction, and hope to human existence.Item Quando a pregação deixa de ser cristã: os efeitos do Deísmo Terapêutico Moralista na homilética confessional contemporânea(2025) Gabriel Decothé Xavier Otoni da SilvaThis paper analyzes the impacts of "Moralistic Therapeutic Deism" (MTD), a sociological concept coined by Christian Smith, on Brazilian confessional homiletics. It starts from the hypothesis that the pursuit of cultural relevance and adaptation to national religious syncretism have favored a self-help spirituality to the detriment of Christian orthodoxy. Through a bibliographical review, it investigates how Prosperity Theology and the “Preaching in the Media Age" act as vectors for this phenomenon, transforming the pulpit into a therapeutic stage. As a response to the identified theological deterioration, the paper proposes a return to Redemptive-Historical Preaching. Articulating the concepts of Theodrama (Vanhoozer), Biblical Theology (Goldsworthy), and the Fallen Condition Focus (Chapell), it concludes that reinserting the listener into the meta-narrative of Redemption is the necessary antidote to combat the superficiality of modern deism.Item O Pregador: reflexões a partir da vida e obra de Leonard Ravenhill(2025) Matheus Flor de CarvalhoThis article reflects on the person of the preacher of the Word, based on the life and work of Leonard Ravenhill. Since the Bible points out indispensable elements for those who have the calling to preach, it is necessary to pay attention to the life and characteristics of such men. This work is dedicated to a bibliographical study of these elements and, in particular, to records about the preacher Leonard Ravenhill. First, a brief history of his life is analyzed, noting examples left for other preachers. Then, two central aspects of his preaching are studied: as a prophet and as an evangelist. Finally, some essential characteristics of a preacher are highlighted according to other theoretical sources and in accordance with the Bible. In the final considerations, the results reached by the article with these studies are examined, as well as practical implications for the life of those called to the ministry of preaching.Item A relação do texto de Ap 4-5 com a Literatura Apocalíptica(2025) André da Silva NovaesThis article examines the relationship between Revelation 4–5 and apocalyptic literature, based on the hypothesis that these chapters engage in a dialogue with apocalyptic texts originating from Second Temple Judaism. The research adopts a qualitative approach of a descriptive, explanatory, and analytical nature, grounded in a specialized bibliographic review. It concludes that Revelation 4–5 exemplifies the incorporation and reinterpretation of the Jewish apocalyptic tradition, articulating a theology of praise, divine sovereignty, and the victory of the Lamb, and offering a message of hope and resistance to Christian communities at the end of the first century CE.Item Teodiceia no Salmo 91: fé, sofrimento e a presença de Deus entre promessas de proteção e a realidade do sofrimento(2025) Paulo Roberto Cantagalo BatistaThis article aims to analyze Psalm 91 in light of the problem of theodicy, seeking to understand how its promises of divine protection relate to the reality of human suffering. Although it is one of the most frequently quoted texts in devotional settings, Psalm 91 is often interpreted literalistically, as if it guaranteed absolute deliverance from all dangers. Drawing on classical and contemporary authors such as Augustine, C. S. Lewis, N. T. Wright, Sayão, Constable (SonicLight), and Omatilha this study proposes a biblical-theological reading that recognizes the psalm’s genre, structure, and literary elements, without separating the psalmist’s trust from divine sovereignty in the face of evil. The research also dialogues with pastoral and academic perspectives on suffering, highlighting the balance between confidence, responsibility, and biblical realism. The methodology is bibliographic, grounded in commentaries, academic articles, and related biblical passages. The conclusion is that Psalm 91 does not promise a life free of affliction, but affirms the faithful presence of God who sustains and accompanies the righteous amid adversity.Item Ser Batista: a formação de uma Identidade no século XVII as origens no separatismo Inglês e relevância contemporânea(2025) Rafael Antunes MariniThis study investigates the historical and theological origins of the Baptist movement, examining how the context of seventeenth-century English Separatism contributed to the formation of its denominational identity. The research begins with the observation that many members of Baptist churches are unaware of their own historical and doctrinal heritage, which weakens their understanding of the fundamental principles that shape this tradition to this day. Through an analysis of the religious environment of post-Reformation England, marked by tensions between Anglicans, Puritans, and dissenting groups, it becomes evident how the pursuit of doctrinal purity and freedom of conscience paved the way for the emergence of the first Baptist communities, especially through leaders such as John Smyth and Thomas Helwys. The study also addresses the development of the movement in Europe and America. In addition, it presents how Baptist identity is expressed through its confessions of faith and ecclesiological practices, demonstrating doctrinal continuity and a historical commitment to the authority of Scripture. The conclusion is that revisiting this trajectory strengthens contemporary Baptist identity, offering a solid foundation for a conscious, coherent, and historically rooted ecclesial life.Item A crise do discipulado na Igreja contemporânea à luz da Grande Comissão(2025) Matheus Simões da SilvaThis study analyzes the crisis of discipleship in the contemporary Christian church in light of the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18–20, arguing that the numerical growth of churches has not been accompanied by effective disciple formation. Grounded in the biblical theology of mission, especially through the concepts of Missio Dei and the priesthood of all believers, this research demonstrates that the mission of the church has always been connected to the formation of a people who live for the glory of God and the transformation of the world. Through a qualitative, bibliographical, and hermeneutical methodology, the contributions of authors such as N. T. Wright, Michael Goheen, Timothy Keller, Graeme Goldsworthy, D. A. Carson, John Stott, and David Bosch were analyzed. The study also presents a sociological analysis of the Brazilian urban context, particularly in the city of Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the paradox between evangelical expansion and the persistence of violence, corruption, and social degradation. The conclusion affirms that the weakness of social transformation is directly related to the weakening of biblical discipleship, emphasizing the urgent need for a return to relational, intentional, and multiplying discipleship as the central mission of the church.Item Ressurreição: comentário em 1 Coríntios 15:35-49 e aplicações para a Igreja atual(2025) Miquéias Farias da SilvaThis article investigates the resurrection through an exegesis of the text from the First Letter to the Corinthians. The study proposes the hypothesis that the early church held a literal understanding of the bodily resurrection, which generated hope amid chaos, and explores how the vision of the resurrection can produce hope in the face of the church’s current crises. Based on bibliographic sources, the thesis is structured in three sections: the first is dedicated to the exegesis of the biblical text; the second analyzes the perception of the resurrection among first-century Christians; and the third proposes to the contemporary church a hopeful vision in the midst of death and sorrow, grounded in the certainty of the resurrection. The research seeks to enrich the theological and practical understanding of this topic, which remains controversial and raises important questions about the future of the church.Item Miquéias: a consciência social na tradição profética(2025) Ruben Gonçalves de Souza MatosThis article addresses the theme “Micah: The Prophetic Social Consciousness”, highlighting the relevance of the Old Testament prophet in his ethical, social, and spiritual role. The research starts from the problem of the dissociation between faith and practice, seeking to understand how Micah’s message integrates spirituality and social justice. The article analyzes prophecy in Israel, its nature and function, and explores the Book of Micah, emphasizing its structure, historical context, and the prophet’s identity. Methodologically, this is a qualitative, bibliographic research based on classical and contemporary theological works. The results indicate that the prophetic message remains current, offering foundations for an integral spirituality that values ethics and social commitment. Therefore, biblical prophecy is a call to transformation, with significant implications for the church’s mission in facing contemporary challenges.Item Trindade e salvação: a garantia da salvação por meio do ministério da Trindade(2025) Silas dos Santos MouttaBy his own merit, a Christian could never attain salvation. So how can we be assured of the forgiveness of our sins? According to the pericope of Ephesians 1:3–14, how does each Person of the Trinity act to guarantee the saving work? In this article, we address aspects and correlations with other Pauline texts regarding the Father’s act of election, the Son’s work of redemption, and the Holy Spirit’s sealing. In addition to answering the question raised from the text within its context, we also explore some practical applications and respond to possible objections based on the conclusions we reach.Item Contextualização teológica: a influência da cultura local na formulação doutrinária e na prática eclesial(2025) Maicon Ignacio F. SilvaTheological contextualization has become essential for Christian mission in a world marked by cultural diversity and constant change. This article discusses how culture influences doctrinal formulation and ecclesial practice, emphasizing the need for theology to dialogue with its context without compromising biblical truth. Based on qualitative bibliographic research using authors such as Nicholls, Geertz, Bevans, Bosch, and Hiebert, the study explores the challenges and possibilities of contextualization in the local church. These authors offer complementary perspectives on the interaction between faith and culture: Geertz emphasizes culture as a system of meanings; Bevans asserts that all theology is contextual by nature; Bosch highlights mission as a dynamic movement; Hiebert proposes a dialogue between anthropology and missiology; and Nicholls defends a theology faithful to Scripture and relevant to culture. The study concludes that contextualization is a continuous and indispensable process for the church to live and proclaim the gospel meaningfully, avoiding both ethnocentrism and syncretism.Item Seguimento e discipulado em Mc 1.16-20: as exigências do discipulado e a contemporaneidade(2025) Pedro Henrique dos Santos BarrosThis article explores the demands of discipleship as presented in Mark 1:16-20, aiming to reflect on their application and relevance for contemporary Christians. The central hypothesis is that Jesus' demands, which involve the abandonment of a previous life and total dedication to Him, are timeless principles that continue to shape and challenge modern Christian life. Through exegetical and hermeneutical analysis, this study investigates the distinction between Jewish discipleship and following Jesus, emphasizing the practical implications of this difference. Furthermore, the article examines how Jesus' call to leave one's former life remains a central aspect of Christian commitment, offering an application of these demands to contemporary life and pastoral practice. The conclusion is that Jesus' teachings maintain their relevance over time, providing a solid foundation for Christian life and its role in the modern world.Item O processo de desenvolvimento de líderes no reino de Deus: Em defesa de uma filosofia de formação de liderança servil a partir de um modelo trinitário de autodoação(2025) Francisco Aires de Oliveira JuniorThis article proposes a Kingdom-centered and Trinitarian approach to the development of Christian leaders, articulating theological foundations and principles of organizational formation. Structured in three dimensions — internal, external, and transcendent — the model understands leadership development as a spiritual, relational, and continuous process, centered on self-giving and service. The internal dimension refers to the consolidation of the leader's identity in Christ, their self-perception, and the coherence between being, knowing, and doing. The external dimension concerns the capacity to perceive the other and the context as a field for service and mission. The superior dimension, on the other hand, implies submission to divine revelation, spiritual discernment, and alignment with God's will. The formative process is represented by an ascending developmental spiral, composed of five recurrent stages: identity, calling, perception of reality, response, and multiplication. This dynamic highlights the non-linear and relational nature of the leader's growth, who matures through the interaction between experiences, crises, and vocational faithfulness. The proposed process adopts Kingdom-centric evaluation criteria, based on faithfulness and engagement, prioritizing coherence with the character of Christ and missionary commitment within the context of the faith community. Thus, it offers a theological and pedagogical basis applicable both to the formation of ministerial leaders and to the development of organizational leadership guided by the values of the Kingdom of God.
