Grounded in the biblical theology of mission, especially through the concepts of Missio Dei and the priesthood of all believers, this research demonstrates that the mission of the church has always been connected to the formation of a people who live for the glory of God and the transformation of the world. Through a qualitative, bibliographical, and hermeneutical methodology, the contributions of authors such as N. T. Wright, Michael Goheen, Timothy Keller, Graeme Goldsworthy, D. A. Carson, John Stott, and David Bosch were analyzed. The study also presents a sociological analysis of the Brazilian urban context, particularly in the city of Rio de Janeiro, highlighting the paradox between evangelical expansion and the persistence of violence, corruption, and social degradation. The conclusion affirms that the weakness of social transformation is directly related to the weakening of biblical discipleship, emphasizing the urgent need for a return to relational, intentional, and multiplying discipleship as the central mission of the church.ptGrande ComissãoDiscipuladoMissãoIgrejaTransformação socialA crise do discipulado na Igreja contemporânea à luz da Grande ComissãoArticle
